Teresa “Terri” Albertson has been an active and esteemed member of the Dunellen community since 2004. Her commitment to Dunellen and its residents remains steadfast as she seeks re-election to the Dunellen Borough Council.

Having spent three decades in South Florida, Terri and her husband Pete chose Dunellen as their new home. Since 2004, Terri has dedicated her time and talents to enriching the Dunellen community, quickly becoming a familiar and beloved presence around town. Her contributions span a variety of organizations, from the Friends of the Dunellen Library and the Carol Fund to the Senior Club, SUDS (Stop Underage Drinking Students), and more.

For the past 20 years, Terri has served the Dunellen community with unwavering dedication. Taking the next step in her community involvement, she assumed the role of Council Member in 2022.

During her tenure, Terri has been instrumental in driving Dunellen’s progress, holding key appointments to organizations and commissions such as Police and Public Safety; Recreation and Senior Citizens; Greenbook Flood Control Commission; Dunellen Downtown Management Organization; Mayor’s Cannabis Task Force; Diversity and Inclusion; and Dunellen’s Green Team Advisory Committee. In recognition of her hard work and commitment, Terri was elected as Dunellen Borough Council President in 2024.

Looking Ahead 

Terri envisions a vibrant future for Dunellen, propelled by the current town Renaissance marked by the influx of new businesses, residents, and visitors. If re-elected, Terri pledges to continue:

• Spearheading efforts to revitalize the downtown area through street beautification and exploring the implementation of a downtown improvement district for further enhancements. 
• Prioritizing the enhancement of Dunellen’s infrastructure, encompassing roads, parks, and public spaces.
• Maintaining active involvement with the Dunellen Equity Pilot Team to ensure that communications effectively reach all residents. 
• Contributing insights to the Master Plan Steering Committee to guide Dunellen’s downtown and zoning laws towards balanced and responsible development. 
• Participating in the Dunellen Green Team Advisory Committee to facilitate Dunellen’s transition towards a more environmentally sustainable community.

Terri's profound understanding of the town’s residents distinguishes her as a candidate. She is attuned to the needs, desires, and concerns of the senior community, while also empathetically engaging with newer residents, families, and students. She recognizes the importance of preserving Dunellen's rich heritage while embracing the promise of its future.

As someone once said, ‘Dunellen takes care of its own’—and Terri is wholeheartedly committed to upholding this spirit as a Dunellen Council Member.
