Since taking office, Council President Crisol-Iris Lantz and Councilwoman Elizabeth VanDermark, working alongside Mayor Jason Cilento and the Borough Council, have provided responsible leadership and delivered measurable results for the residents of Dunellen. From maintaining fiscal responsibility to investing in our neighborhoods, downtown, and infrastructure, they remain committed to moving Dunellen forward while honoring its proud history.

Together, we've delivered:

• Revitalized Downtown Dunellen with nearly $200 million in new investment, attracting new businesses, including a state-of-the-art museum, a professional theater company, coffee shops, restaurants, and more. We've also ensured developers contribute to downtown beautification through community benefits, including new trees, planters, pedestrian safety improvements, and enhanced public spaces.
•  Secured more than $9 million in grant funding for roadway improvements, downtown beautification projects, parks, public safety initiatives, and other critical community investments.
• Made historic investments in parks, roads, and infrastructure, with nearly 80% of all municipal roads repaved, while continuing to improve sidewalks, utilities, and other public facilities.
• Modernized Borough operations by improving the organizational structure and implementing more efficient processes and procedures to deliver responsive, transparent, and high-quality services to residents.
• Demonstrated fiscal responsibility by stabilizing the municipal tax rate, delivering a flat municipal budget in 2026 despite rising costs, moving municipal healthcare into a competitive marketplace to better manage long-term expenses, and growing the tax base through responsible downtown economic development to strengthen Borough finances.
• Expanded internet and cable provider choices for residents. Before the Dunellen's Future, Together! team, residents had only one provider. We successfully advocated for additional providers, creating more competition, better service, and greater consumer choice.
• Advanced plans for a modernized Dunellen Train Station. By working with local, county, state, and federal partners, we're closer than ever to making this long-awaited project a reality.
• Strengthened public safety through traffic-calming initiatives, improved roadway striping, Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at key intersections, enhanced crosswalks, and other pedestrian safety improvements that are making Dunellen a safer and more walkable community.
• Put Community Input First by expanding opportunities for residents and the business community to help shape Dunellen's future through surveys, public events, and collaborative planning initiatives. From partnering with Rutgers' Bloustein School and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) to conducting our recent Master Plan Reexamination, we've made community engagement a priority—ensuring residents have a voice in the decisions that guide Dunellen's future.
